Since 2020, the Roude Léiw Polo Club A.s.b.l. (RLPC) is proud member of the Deutscher Polo Verband e.V. (DPV), the German Polo Federation.

The Board of the DPV decided in its November 2019 meeting to accept the RLPC as a member. The DPV Board’s decision is exceptional as the RLPC is the first member of the DPV that is not located on German grounds. For the time being the RLPC is considered as a temporary guest member, until the DPV extends its bylaws from being a federation not only for German clubs but in the future also including non-German clubs.

The RLPC is the first polo club in Luxembourg that is member of an accredited sports federation.

The membership is a great honor for our young club as it underlines the attractiveness of our club in the polo world. In addition, it gives the RLPC several advantages:

- All RLPC tournaments are now listed in the DPV calendar of polo tournaments. (see: https://www.dpv-poloverband.de/de/turniere/liste)

- Handicaps of our club's players are officially listed and tracked, as they are set and adjusted following the by-annual decisions of the Federation's handicap commission

- The RLPC follows the DPV’s well thought through regulations, rules and recommendations, based on a vast experience gained during the nearly 50 years long existence of the DPV

- Through the DPV membership the RLPC is associated with the Hurlingham Polo Association and the Federation of International Polo (FIP)

We are looking forward to our interaction with the DPV!

With 14 years our youngest player of the RLPC, Leopold Ludorf, was elected "Most Valuable Member 2019" of our club. He was honored with this title for his noumerous sportive successes and his fair play representation of our young club in the European polo world throughout the 2019 polo season.

In July, Leopold won the Roude Léiw Polo Cup 2019 in Luxembourg, with his parents in a team. Also in July he participated in the German Junior Championships in the Fürstenberg Polo Club in Donaueschingen, Germany. He won in August 2019 the French Junior Championship in Chantilly Polo Club, France. In September, out of 32 players, Leopold was elected "Most Valuable Player" at the Last of the Season Cup at the Rhein Polo Club Düsseldorf, Germany. In 2019 Leopold increased his handicap by one goal.

RLPC successfully closed this polo season 2019 with it's Fun Cup last weekend. Wonderful weather, very fair games and a great dinner on the polo fields made it an unforgettable event.

There will be some more club chukkers and training on the field if weather allows, before we move to the winter season and enjoy inside arena polo in the coming months.

ROUDE LÉIW POLO CUP 2019

The RLPC organized its first international polo tournament on July 5-7, 2019. Four teams have played six games over three days. More than 60 polo horses were in action on the weekend. More than 500 spectators attended the event and were impressed by the exclusive event.

3. ProCarLease: Ulrike Gabrin (-1), Laurenz Gabrin (0), Beate Pfister-Leibold (-1), Lukas Leibold (0)

4. Heritage Property Group: Marzuq Fagbemi (0), Bert van Deynze (0), Sandra Heinma (-2), Andreas Schwiertz (-2)

The team Bentley with Johanna Droste, Britta Kran-Piltz, Alexander Piltz und Beto Farias won the RLPC Inauguration Cup 2018. Second became the team from Audi Luxembourg, third Sotheby's Reality Luxembourg followed by the host team of Roude Léiw Polo Club.

Roude Léiw Polo Club welcomed today 16 kids and 6 supervisors for a 1-day Youth Polo Camp. 5 different workshops to get to learn the basics of polo were offered: Hitting the polo ball with walking sticks, hitting the ball on a wooden horse, basic polo rules, the polo horse & the equipment of horse and player and bike polo. Finally the girls and boys were excited to actually ride the polo horses. The Youth Polo Camp was part of the Ville de Luxembourg's summer sports program.

Roude Léiw Polo Club invites all polo loving friends & family for an afterwork drink to La P'tite Maison (100, rue Rollingergrund -Luxembourg) on Thursday, 1st of February at 6:30pm. Founding members will explain the objectives of the new club and the schedule of polo tournaments for 2018.
